    The following pieces, a cover letter from Aug. of 2007, and the essay to which it refers, from Feb. 2007, show my basic worries - before the financial storm hit - about the soundness of our financial system. My writing was triggered by a Washington Post "all's well" economic forecast which I saw in Jan. of 2007.
